Illinois State Rep. Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove) had harsh words for the Governor following his address today. Said Sandack:
“Today the Governor’s Budget Address showed us he is finally realizing Illinois is in a fiscal calamity, but he is still planning on spending more with little regard for Illinois taxpayers. We have $1.6 billion more in unpaid bills today than we had when the income tax was increased and are spending $1.6 billion more than when the tax increase was adopted. The Governor realizes far too late that we are in the largest fiscal and financial crisis the state has ever seen. The Governor continues to talk a good game on pension reform, but has failed to lead with concrete solutions. We need to enact meaningful pension reform, implement Medicaid reforms and focus on an actually balanced budget.”
