WASHINGTON - Tuesday, the Democratic Congressional Committee announced 26 new members they see as vulnerable in 2014, and three Illinois freshmen Democrats are on the DCCC's list - Cheri Bustos (17), Bill Enyart (12) and Brad Schneider (10). Freshmen Democrats that appear somewhat secure and not on the DCCC's Frontline Incumbent Retention Program are Tammy Duckworth and Bill Foster.

In those three endangered seats, speculations are that former U.S. Reps Bobby Schilling and Bob Dold will try to regain their 17th and 10th CD seats next year, although neither have officially announced yet. Schilling's campaign has stayed active blogging on Bustos' congressional votes and several staffers from the Dold campaign attended the Northwest Suburban GOP Dinner Monday night, appearing to be making at attempt to "keep the band together." Questions remain as to whether Republican Jason Plummer will try again in the 12th.
And just as those 26 Democrats' names emerged, the National Republican Congressional Committee hits the Internet with digital attack ads. The NRCC is sending us one and we'll attach as soon as we get it in.
