CHICAGO - Monday night, the 11th Ward GOP organization - headed by Committeeman Carl Segvich - voted to pass the following resolution, calling on IL GOP Chairman Pat Brady to step down. A special meeting is called for the State Central Committee to discuss the chairman's dismissal Saturday, March 9th, in Tinley Park. The 11th Ward GOP's resolution says:
We, the volunteers and voters of Chicago's 11th Ward Republican Party, in our state of Illinois, support the following resolution:
WHEREAS, Illinois Chairman Brady has endorsed and promoted the deranged concept of "marriages" for homosexuals,
WHEREAS, Illinois Chairman Brady has refused to support the Republican Party's platform plank for traditional marriage,
WHEREAS, Illinois Chairman Brady has embarrassed and made a mockery of the Republican Party and Illinois families,
WHEREAS, Illinois Chairman Brady has endangered the survival of a moral and virtuous American culture,
THUS WE, the volunteers of 11th Ward Republican Party do hereby demand and compel his immediate resignation from the Illinois Republican Party, and that his replacement be chosen from among virtuous men who support traditional marriage and families, consistent with the values of the Framers of the United States Constitution and Declaration of Independence.
Dated in the year of Our Lord, March 3, 2013
Commiteeman Segvich told Illinois Review that the term "virtuous men" in the final paragraph also includes the consideration of "virtuous women" for the chairman's post.
"Yes of course, I am old school," Segvich said. "'Virtuous men' includes male and female alike."
