Just before Valentine's Day, Illinois Lt. Governor Sheila Simon has announced she will not be on the 2014 ticket with Gov. Pat Quinn, who has grown increasingly unpopular as the state sinks deeper in debt.
Simon told reporters, "It is time for me to do even more. I want to serve the people of Illinois in a role where I can have an even greater impact.”
Simon didn't elaborate on what that new role might be. It is being rumored she may run for Attorney General if Lisa Madigan runs against Quinn in the Democrat primary for Governor.
