After directing calls into State Rep. Sandack's district earlier this week, Paul Caprio's Family PAC is now turning up the heat on freshman State Rep. Mike Smiddy (D-71). Calls from Sandy Rios pressuring Smiddy to vote against the redefinition of marriage are being made to constituents throughout the 71st District. (listen to recording below)

There seems to be widespread support among conservatives for the Caprio/Rios effort. Although some have expressed concern about the messaging - specifically the failure to define the larger pro-gay marriage coalition as "special interests" rather than any one particular group.
The marriage redefinition bill passed the Illinois Senate and out of the House Committee. It now goes to the floor for a vote.
