Killing the messenger: Feds follow Illinois in suing S&P
More than a year after Illinois' attorney general sued rating agency Standard & Poor's for misleading investors by assigning its highest ratings to risky mortgage-backed investments, the U.S. government has filed its own civil lawsuit against the company.
