On Thursday, FOX 32 reported that former Democrat Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. would spend some time in jail and that he may be ready to sign off on a plea agreement.
One of the things Jackson was asking for was a disability package and sources say, he got it. Before handing in his letter of resignation and giving up his seat in the 2nd District, Jackson applied for his disability package. Sources say the former congressman received that approval letter in November just days before giving up the congressional seat.
And CBS Chicago reported that Jackson's plea deal calls for him to plead guilty to misuse of campaign funds and let a federal judge determine whether he serves any time in prison. Barring last-minute changes, Jackson would plead guilty to a single felony count and leave his fate in the hands of the judge. His punishment could range from probation to five years in prison.
