CHICAGO - Facebook posts indicated Tuesday night that Republican Paul McKinley had won the 2nd CD nomination for the GOP. But the Chicago Tribune's numbers show things may not be settled. At least one GOP candidate is not conceding yet:
Shortly thereafter, fellow GOP candidate Lenny McAllister conceded:
And a story about McKinley's win appeared this morning in the National Review:
And then this appeared from third GOP candidate Eric Wallace, saying the race is too close to call.
Here's what the Chicago Tribune shows this afternoon, indicating 3, 530 Republicans voted in Tuesday's race, compared to 55,000 or so Democrats.
The McKinley Campaign responded -
and a McAllister supporter wrote "Loss for Lenny McAllister equals loss for IL GOP". Still lots of issues to iron out in the 2nd CD before the GOP nominee takes on the Democrat winner Robin Kelly.
