Imagine if a former president of the United States sexually harrassed a young female intern who worked for him at The White House. And imagine if that former president had repeatedly lied to his wife, his cabinet, and to the American people several times during a year of public scandal and then lost his license to practice law for five years because he also lied under oath to a federal judge on a matter material to a criminal investigation. Now imagine if that habitual liar was anyone other than Bill Clinton.
Do you think any other person with that background of scandal would get a standing ovation from a room full of adoring Hollywood producers, directors, and actors at the annual Golden Globes Awards show? And would he or she have been honored to present an award to the film about the revered President Abraham Lincoln?
