It does matter that Obama's goals are to destroy the economy and the country as a super power, a goal embraced by Leftist elites.
This is the reason why so many individuals on the Right remain disappointed and disillusioned over the disappointing election results of November 6, 2012, when a majority of the electorate voted in favor of Obama's misguided policies via education (or lack thereof), handouts, and the media, so that what is beneficial/good has now been turned upside down. Try convincing the public of the benefits of austerity, hard work and living a sexually moral life.
Certainly the women of The View and those who watch them avidly will NOT respond favorably. It's mostly working men and morally upright women married to them who "get it."
We've been destroyed from within, but since we haven't yet descended into race war or chaos, more than half the people are happily watching the Bowl games thinking all is well. Panem et circensus, as the Roman elite figured out.
Literally "bread and circuses" as the formula for the well-being of a population, and thus a political strategy.
There is little comfort in being told as conservative Republicans by fellow Republicans that what we believe in has gone out of style and/or how our Constitution no longer represents the times we are living in. We are being urged by party establishment members to move further and further to the Left under the guise of attracting more voters to the Republican Party. We are told to welcome illegal aliens, sanction gay marriage, give in on the tax issue, forfeit our Second Amendment rights, etc., yet another wave of illegal aliens granted status through amnesty would completely reshape this nation. The resulting demographics would set in motion a permanent base of power for the Democratic Party, while the once grand Republican Party would wither on the vine of its own self destruction, having been too afraid to stand firm on its core values and beliefs.
Regarding the fiscal and moral cliff, this nation went over both a long time ago, but definitely in 2008. The Tea Party and the DC gathering were a response to that. Conservative coalitions have had some successes, but many of their candidates get sabotaged by the media (and their own ineptness?) and wide-spread vote fraud.
It has been observed that the most notable characteristic of liberals is empathy, whereas conservatives pride themselves in their logic. It is hardly surprising that those in the arts and journalism lean to the left because their occupations revolve around the lives of others, in the first case imaginary, and in the other, vicarious. Those in engineering and the sciences (apart from educators) tend to be conservative because their occupations require careful examination of cause and effect.
One could ask why it is that our lawmakers are increasingly in the liberal mold? They don't seem to fit in the role of either caregivers or problem solvers.
The answer is simple. If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he
will eat for a lifetime. But if you take fish from one man and give it to another, he will become dependent on you. In short, you become a leader and get reelected. If some, out of charity, offer their fish to others in need, you intervene, because they threaten your role as the leader and provider.
Politicians likewise pander to the fears and ignorance of their electorate: "If my opponent is elected, he will take away the things you like."
Do we have the moral obligation to continue working for a turn-around? Yes, but in the short-term, I don't see it happening, at least not here in Illinois. We could take over local governments, school boards. To do that we need to try to convince good people to run. They have to be well-known in the community without obvious ties to conservative causes, or the local media will identify them as such and the Left will outflank them, with the help of editorial endorsements at election time.
The problem with recruiting conservatives is that political power is usually not desired because these people have families, businesses, jobs, lives they want to live in peace.
The Left has a vicious agenda that is "semi-religious" in nature -- all their efforts go in the direction of achieving power. Leftist, Communists really, have a devotion to the cause like devout religious people do. They are willing to die for the faith. Members of the Communist Party are considered "dead men walking" for their willingness to die for the cause.
The second disadvantage is that conservatives deal in reality, they feel an obligation to tell the truth, whereas the Left does not. The left can associate with all sorts of liberal causes, groups, lobbyists, etc. but it is considered taboo for a right candidate to do so. Hence the Left resorts to lies and personal attack on those who deal in facts and logic. Advantage: the Left. What ordinary person wants to run into that meat-grinder knowing that conservatives are always taken to task for their allegiances, but liberals seem free to do what they want?
The lines are hardened and I think the rest of our history is in God's hands. We had better be people of resolute faith and prayer. We will need it.
In 2 Chronicles 7:14 it is written: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land."
As the scripture indicates, prayer must also be accompanied by appropriate and sincere action. Sitting back and waiting for God to act is not enough even while offering our prayers. God also expects His people to do their part with "boots on the ground' in order to carry out God's will.
