UPDATE: Steve Orlando's attorney Christine Svenson confirmed to Illinois Review that the portion of the lawsuit concerning this Saturday's Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Illinois convention has been set aside and the event will proceed as scheduled. However, Orlando's complaint about the use of the RNHA trademark is scheduled to be heard in the DuPage County courts March 28th, 2013.
We reported earlier that Steve Orlando had filed a cease and desist lawsuit against the Republican National Hispanic Assembly (RNHA) of Illinois led by Rafael Rivadeneira. The lawsuit was filed a few days before the IL RNHA is to hold it's convention in Elgin.
Illinois Review has learned that the Orlando lawsuit has been dismissed by the DuPage County Court. The organization's response to Orlando's lawsuit can be found HERE, and Rivadeneira's filing with the court can be found HERE.
We'll be covering the organization's convention, so stay tuned for updates.
