Breaking news this Sunday afternoon. Multiple sources are reporting that SB2899, an amended bill that would establish a gun registry and ban assault weapons and gun magazines with over 10 rounds has been pulled from consideration by the Illinois House Judicary committee during this week's lame duck session.
Illinois Carry has released this message:
"IL House Judiciary Committee Chair Elaine Nekritz just announced that there would be no vote on SB2899 or any other assault weapons ban during the lame duck session. Rest up, folks, and let's get ready to fight this fight again when the new 98th General Assembly is sworn in next week!"
