During a meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors this past weekend, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel asked his
fellow mayors to divest their pension funds from gun manufacturers and retailers. Emanuel proclaimed there is not return on investment worth the havoc inanimate guns wreak on communities.
Last week, the mayor called for an audit of the Chicago's pension funds to identify any investments Chicago has in legal gun makers and retailers. He also pressured other city agencies to do the same, including the Chicago Park District, Chicago Transit Authority and the Chicago Housing Authority.
