Dems say without GOP votes, assault weapon ban and gay marriage won't pass

Fox News political editor Mike Flannery just tweeted that Senate President John Cullerton's spokesman says even though the Democrats have a healthy majority in the Senate, without Republican votes, they're unable to get gay marriage or assault weapon ban passed.

Is it possible that Downstate Democrats end up defeating the Chicago Liberals' plans?
