CHICAGO - Why have Americans lost the drive to earn more? A recent Pennsylvania report spelled out the economic situation in their state, which can only be equal to or not as bad as demands on Illinois' taxpayers. Entitled "Welfare's Failure and the Solution," the 28-page report includes the facts and charts showing the strain of welfare entitlement programs and government union employee rolls on Pennsylvania's budget:
- For every 1.65 employed persons in the private sector, 1 person receives welfare assistance
- For every 1.25 employed persons in the private sector, 1 person receives welfare assistance or works for the government
How much worse can it be for Illinois wealth producers?
Here's access to copy of the Pennsylvania report - and those that insist social issues be abandoned in political party platforms, the section describing a typical welfare recipient should be carefully examined.
