Ayers' mention of the Pentagon and the Capitol is especially interesting since it was his domestic terrorist organization - the Weather Underground - that claimed responsibility for bombing those buildings in 1971. Ayers, now a Distinguished Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, never served jail time for his accused part in the bombings after his defense cited FBI evidence tampering.
