Via note on his Facebook page Friday, Congressman Joe Walsh (IL-8) - who lost November 6th to Democrat Tammy Duckworth - said while he's taking a break, then he'll be back into Illinois' political scene.
Dear Friends,
Three years ago I decided to run for Congress because I thought we were losing our country. Along the way I've been so grateful for the support I've received and inspired by how many of you joined the cause to fight to reclaim the principles this great Nation was founded upon.
While the results Tuesday were not what we wanted, it was but one chapter in our fight for freedom, individual responsibility and limited government...
We must continue this fight - We can't afford not to. If we fail to reclaim what our Founders gave us, we will give our kids and our grandkids a life of indentured servitude.
Work with me to ensure that doesn't happen. This State and this Country are in trouble. After a long overdue rest, I intend to jump right back in and do what I can to make sure future generations experience freedom and prosperity.
Thank you to all who were a part of this campaign. You'll never forget it, there will never be another campaign like it, and you made a difference.
Thank you so much for joining me in this cause this past year. Please join me again wherever our fight takes us tomorrow.
In Freedom,
Joe Walsh
