Congressman Joe Walsh announced he's received the endorsement of Local 150, an AFL-CIO member and the largest Local in the 8th congressional district.
In a press release, the campaign noted that "the Local 150, which endorsed Barack Obama for President, reflects the broad bipartisan support for Congressman Joe Walsh with this endorsement.
Local 150 President Jim Sweeney stated, "Walsh's support of the Davis-Bacon Act and other laws that enable workers to raise families and contribute to the economy is a testament to his willingness to make tough political decisions to protect working men and women of the 8th district and across the State of Illinois."
In response, Congressman Walsh said, "I'm honored to have the support of Local 150, which represents the largest community of organized labor in the 8th district. Throughout this campaign I've earned support from 8th district workers and businesses, large and small. They recognize my commitment to creating a pro-growth environment so job creators can grow and create opportunities for workers and families in the 8th district."
Walsh concluded, "Whether it's a union worker in Elk Grove or a small business owner in Villa Park, the number one issue I hear about is turning this economy around and creating new jobs. To receive endorsements from the largest business organization and from the largest Local in Illinois, is truly an honor, and it lets me know I'm doing the right thing for businesses and workers."
