WASHINGTON - For years, American Tax Reform's Grover Norquist has worked to keep taxes from incessant, uncontrolled hikes. He's offered lawmakers at the state and federal level opportunities to sign anti-tax pledges that provides voters confidence in candidates' economic policy and attitudes concerning the size of government.
Those federal lawmakers who've signed Norquist's pledge over the years are now trying to find a way to squirm out of their commitment, especially approaching the dreaded fiscal cliff at the end of the year.
