The buyer of the most expensive condominium in Chicago history is billionaire hedge fund manager Kenneth Griffin, who paid $15 million earlier this month for a full-floor penthouse in the Park Tower, county records show.
Mr. Griffin, founder of Citadel LLC, may aim to build an extravagant duplex atop the luxury high-rise at 800 N. Michigan Ave. Records show Mr. Griffin paid $6.9 million in 2000 for a 67th-floor condo directly above his new floor.
