ROSEMONT - Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan stopped in Rosemont and raised $2.5 million Sunday afternoon, following a visit by Mitt Romney to Lake Forest last month. State Treasurer and Romney Illinois chairman Dan Rutherford declared last month's event that raised $4.4 million to be "the largest single Republican fund-raiser in Illinois history."
Former IL Attorney General Ty Fahner said Illinois has raised nearly $20 million for the Romney campaign thus far.
Certainly there's an urgency among those big donors to oust Barack Obama and Joe Biden in 2012, but one wonders what it will take to get those same big Illinois donors to focus on the urgent financial crisis in their very own backyards?
