In a huge sampling of 9100 likely voters taken last week, Gallup is showing Monday that those polled are evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats, with 29 percent choosing to identify themselves as independent, Fox News reports. When asked which party they identify with in this election, the voters divided thus:
- Democrats - 35%
- Independents - 29%
- Republicans - 36%
Political strategists say if they were in "Chicago" - where the 2012 Obama campaign is headquartered - they would be worried, as independents are reported to be overwhelmingly voting for Mitt Romney.
