SCHAUMBURG – Monday Congressman Joe Walsh announced his “Small Business Tour” in which he fulfills his pledge to skip the RNC Convention in Tampa and instead will hold numerous events in each county in the 8th district.
“My number one priority this week is the same one I have had throughout this entire campaign, to hear from voters. I have no interest in traveling to Tampa to waste time attending parties with political insiders. During the tour I plan on meeting with multiple small businesses to learn how Washington’s policies hurt them.
“While I pledged to stay in the district, my opponent Ms. Duckworth announced that she will be a speaker at the DNC convention in Charlotte. Ms. Duckworth appears to be more interested in being the darling of the democrat party machine, rather than staying in the district meeting with voters.
“I have never been a part of the Washington establishment, and have no interest in fraternizing with political insiders. Instead I look forward to hearing from hundreds of voters during this tour,” concluded Walsh.
