FRANKFORT - Ten years ago this weekend, Illinoisan Jill Stanek and U.S. Senator Rick Santorum stood alongside President George W Bush after he signed into law the federal Born Alive Infants Protection Act.
Jill, the nurse that shared what was going on at Oak Lawn's Christ Hospital opened the shades and let light shine on how they were treating babies that survived intended abortions. After holding one of those babies for 45 minutes, Jill reached out to her pastor, her friends, and eventually state lawmakers. There she met and confronted State Senator Barack Obama, who was committed to protecting abortion at any cost. Soon her story was national news, and President George W. Bush and U.S. Senator Rick Santorum led the charge to protect those babies when Illinois wouldn't do it.
Jill will share what happened ten years ago and update us on crucial advances in the prolife cause Tuesday night, August 7th, at the Frankfort Smokey Barque restaurant. Ladies, get your tickets at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3869291154 - (Men are welcomed, too!)
