CHICAGO - The Onion's photo illustration of a Sears jet approaching Chicago's Willis Tower from an Onion video ("Sears Extremists Fly Plane Into Willis Tower") published last week on The Onion's website has sparked a fury among Facebook users who didn't find it very funny.
The Better Government Association held a dinner last Tuesday night, honoring The Onion moving its headquarters to Chicago. That evening when Lt Governor Sheila Simon's banjo band played a tune making light of Chicago's corruption? (see previous IR post)
Obviously, The Onions funny guys weren't in Chicago on 9/11, when the then-Sears Tower employees were evacuated because it was threatened to be attacked similar to the World Trade Center.
The new Onions headquarters must not be located in the now-Willis Tower. Note to Chicago: a media bull has entered the Chicago media china shop. So, is everyone over-reacting?
