With six years in the Army, I never thought that I had lived a prudish or sheltered life, and one unfortunately learns to live with extreme vulgar displays in the twisted world of Hollywood-produced pop culture. But even by the sewer standards of cable, I saw last week a late-night show on HBO that was so obcene that it set a new standard for offensive garbage. The sick program depicted Heaven as a run-down hotel where the character of Jesus appears with two topless show girls as angels on his arms.
Glenn A. Britt is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Time Warner Cable which owns HBO. He began serving as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors in March 2009. I wonder how Britt and the eleven other Time Warner Cable directors can face themselves in the mirror each morning if they watch HBO and are at all familiar with the degrading pollution they pump each week into the cultural river where children and teens swim.
The offensive irony is that on its web site Time Warner tries to pass itself off as a company that belives in "social responsiblity" when the company profits from producing filthy HBO programs that mock Christianity and common decency. Unfortunately our Dish Network system for our apartment complex does not offer parental controls so HBO content is very hard to block in homes and common areas where children can see it.
Here is a link to the Dirty Dozen directors at Time Warner who obviously could care less about the obscene content at HBO. Sad to say that one of the amoral directors is none other than former Republican U.S. Senator John E. Sununu who represented New Hampshire from 2003 to 2009 and whose father former Gov. John Sununu was White House Chief of Staff for President George H.W. Bush 41 and now is a surrogate spokesperson for Gov. Mitt Romney. How can we blame cultural pollution on the extreme Left in Hollywood when the main directors and financial backers come from Fortune 500 companies like Time Warner and they are too lazy to supervise the Hollywood morons who work for them?
