SPRINGFIELD - Thursday was Republican Day at the State Fair. Illinois Republicans were hopeful about the Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan ticket and bent on continuing their all out campaign to dethrone House Speaker Mike Madigan.
The day started at the Crowne Plaza with a meeting of the county chairmen, followed by a gathering of the ILGOP State Central Committee. Shortly after noon, Republicans gathered at the State Fairgrounds for Republican Day.
