HIGHLAND PARK - 13th Congressional District nominee Rodney Davis met with U.S. Senator Mark Kirk at the Senator’s home in Highland Park this week to discuss major issues facing the federal government, including the pending fiscal cliff, taxes, and out of control spending. During the meeting, Senator Kirk expressed his support for Davis’ campaign.
“Rodney Davis will be a common sense leader in Congress,” said Senator Kirk. “I look forward to partnering with him to help our country tax less, borrow less, and spend less.”
“I’m honored Senator Kirk took time to discuss important issues facing our state with me,” said Davis. “I look forward to going to Congress and working with Senator Kirk when he returns to the Senate.”
Kirk and Davis spoke for about an hour and discussed a wide array of issues, including government spending, debt, and their opposition to the expiration of the Bush tax cuts which would lead to a tax increase on all Americans.
