CHICAGO - The New York Post's insider report is just not true, Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr's staff insists. Rev. Jackson is not plotting to replace JJJr with his younger brother Jonathan. No, it's absolutely not true. Which makes us wonder if it's really not the case after all.
On one hand, the Congressman's wife Sandi Jackson told the Sun Times' Michael Sneed that Jackson's been completely cut off from all media since he fell ill in early June. Mrs. Jackson told Sneed that he husband wasn't aware that his fundraising friend Raghuveer Nayak had been arrested.
On the other hand, the Congressman's Chicago spokesperson Rick Bryant tells NBC 5's Mary Ann Ahern that he talks with the Congressman almost daily. Don't insult the people of the 2nd CD by suggesting "current events" aren't a part of that ongoing exchange.
And while political professor Dick Simpson predicts that a censure won't matter, that the House Ethics Committee is likely to slap Jackson on the wrists after their ongoing investigation into Jackson - Schmackson wrong doings, it is something that will do nothing to change things, as it hasn't with Congressman Charlie Rangel (D-NY).

The people of Illinois 2nd CD should be insulted. They do have a choice in November as was noted in the Southtown Star last week. They should soundly reject the Jacksons for their blatant lack of respect.
