CHICAGO - Governor Pat Quinn is featured today on the national website "Family Security Matters" with a video clip of Illinois' governor - a Catholic - praying in Muslim tradition this weekend at the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month.
Governor Quinn announced last September the formation of a Muslim-American advisory council - the only religion-based council in his administration.
He may not realize the ramifications of praying as he did this weekend, or what its demonstration means to those of the Muslim faith. However it should be noted that the governor did say that all faiths should be allowed freedom to practice, while his administration shut down Catholic Charities for not integrating same sex couples into its adoption program. He also enthusiastically accepted Obamacare's mandate overruling religious beliefs.
