Attorney General Eric Holder is using his partisan Justice Department to harrass and investigate state and local officials in Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Wisconsin for following state laws that require a government-issued picture ID such as a driver's license to vote. A recent Washington Post poll shows that 74 percent of adult Americans favor these laws as a way to combat voter fraud.
My simple question for those who claim such laws discriminate against the poor and minorities, is how does any person in America today function without a picture ID card of some kind to board a plane or train or enter a secure government building, cash a check, or buy cigarettes or liquor? But they cannot use the same ID to vote? It does not pass the laugh test.
