CHICAGO - Social issues are important to voters in the north suburban 10th CD, one of the most Democrat districts in the nation that is represented by a Republican.
During the Chicago Tribune's editorial board panel interview, the 10th CD's Congressman Bob Dold said he was for civil unions, but defined marriage as between a man and a woman. Brad Schneider, his Democratic opponent said he was for gay marriage. Both candidates said they were pro-choice, and Dold reminded the board that on several occasions he defended the public funding of Planned Parenthood.
