CRYSTAL LAKE - While Equality Illinois' political director Randy Hannig voiced a nationwide effort to fry and pull apart the Chick-fil-A fast food franchise in USA Today this week, EI's greasy fingers will be full as Chick-fil-A stores continue to flourish. 31 new stores are opening throughout the nation, with four brand new ones in Illinois alone.
Despite resentful values slurs from Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel saying Chick-fil-A doesn't reflect Chicago values and an all out affront from gay rights activists, chicken sandwiches have been very popular throughout Illinois as new stores open.
August 2, a new store opened in Fairview Heights, and today another one takes off today in Crystal Lake. The Chick-fil-A website lists two more on their way - in Oswego August 23 and in Bolingbrook September 6.
