LAWNDALE - The men and women of Chicago's dangerous, violent Lawndale neighborhood have formed the "Broke Party."
Mark Harmon, the Broke Party chairman pled with the President saying, "Violence needs a job...Give us the resources - we need jobs, contracts and opportunities for home ownership." They say the unemployment in their area for those between the ages of 16 and 64 is 43 percent. "No one can save us, but us only."
"You're coming here for your birthday as you can see in our community, this is not a good birthday," the spokesman said, directly addressing Obama upon his arrival for his 51st birthday celebration in Chicago this weekend.
