CHICAGO - A story published Saturday evening on Chicago's Crains' website that said that Medicaid is investigating Planned Parenthood of Illinois and the state's Department of Healthcare and Family Services has suspended payments to the organization. The suspension is reportedly due to billing abnormalties.
However, Sunday morning links to Crain's story on the Chicago Tribune and JillStanek.com do not connect to the story, suggesting it has been taken down. JillStanek.com quotes Crain's stories that Dr. Christine Hoke, Planned Parenthood's CEO was paid $3 Million in 2010, the second highest Medicaid payment in Illinois in 2010. In 2011, she received nothing, as billing practices changed, according to Crain's.
Altogether, Planned Parenthood of Illinois received nearly $12.5 Million from Illinois taxpayer funds, half of the $25 Million Planned Parenthod's revenue for 2011.
