On July 13th, President Obama proudly proclaimed “If you’ve got a business – you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” His statements make it painfully obvious that he does not grasp the simplest economic rule that business creates wealth and government takes wealth.
It is very clear that this Administration has no base of knowledge in what it takes to start, and run a business. After all, President Obama has neither started a business nor worked in the private sector.
President Obama’s continuous and rabid disdain for capitalism, clearly explains why America is suffering one of the lowest recorded periods of new small business growth created in decades. To make matters worse, the additional federal taxes and oppressive regulations contained in Obama Care will discourage small business expansion, which is the real answer to repairing the economic meltdown our nation is experiencing.
I am a small businessman who started my business and I can tell you that inherently, government has never created wealth but only stands in the way of economic prosperity. I created my business not with the help of government but in spite of the hindrances thrown in the way by government on all levels. I assume 100% of the risk associated with owning and growing my business but I share the rewards of the business with my employees, customers, advisors, vendors and yes, the government.
My employees and customers receive something in return of equal or greater value to them. Unlike the government, I offer a product to my customers and if that product is of poor value, I wouldn’t be in business long.
It was through the hard work, determination and sacrifice of average citizens that every business in existence in America was created. Business owners are the job creators, providing financial stability to millions of Americans and their families. Government did NONE of this. Government only increases the risk of failure, through excessive taxation and mundane, inefficient regulation and failed economic policies.
It is the businesses of America that provide the lion’s share of the tax revenue that is recklessly squandered by the government. This is the true legacy of the Obama business model: an unsustainable and irresponsible mess, causing the economic pain being felt by all Americans.
In short, business owners in America did start those businesses; government surely did not make that happen.
