CHICAGO - Peter LaBarbera of AFTAH, is reporting that Cook County Circuit Court Judge Sophia Hall - who will rule on the lawsuit challenging Illinois’ law defining marriage - is an open lesbian and gay advocate.
Judge Hall’s homosexuality is not a secret says LaBarbera. In fact, Hall is a “charter member" of the Alliance of Illinois Judges: a homosexual judges organization in Chicago which last year sponsored - along with Lambda Legal and Equality Illinois - a ceremony celebrating Illinois’ new “civil unions” law where AIJ judges officiated the “civil unions” for homosexual couples.
Attorneys contacted by AFTAH said Hall should recuse herself from the gay “marriage” case due to her personal conflict-of-interest. The gay marriage lawsuits were brought jointly by the ACLU and Lambda Legal, and supported by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan who has refused to uphold the state law.
