Democrat Mayor Thomas M. Menino (photo right) is vowing to block Chick-fil-A from establishing stores in Boston after the firm’s president - Dan Cathy - confirmed his company's commitment to traditional family values.
Although Chick-fil-A has never discriminated against customers (which is illegal), Menino went on a discriminatory rant yesterday, stating that:
“Chick-fil-A doesn’t belong in Boston. You can’t have a business in the city of Boston that discriminates against a population. We’re an open city, we’re a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion. That’s the Freedom Trail. That’s where it all started right here. And we’re not going to have a company, Chick-fil-A or whatever the hell the name is, on our Freedom Trail.”
Menino seemed unaware of his intolerance for differing points of view, his abuse of power, or his attempt to deny another's freedom of speech.
Hypocrisy thy name is Menino.
