Today Wisconsin will vote in a recall election that will determine whether their current Governor, Republican Mr. Scott Walker, will continue to hold the office or Democrat Mr. Tom Barrett, the Mayor of Milwaukee, will take it. Every pundit, political geek and news man is talking about how, “this will be a preview of the 2012 presidential election, all eyes are on Wisconsin”. While I do agree all eyes are on Wisconsin, I disagree that this is a main preview of what is to come.
What this election really determines is sore losers. Can they really get away with it?
The Democrats of Wisconsin are in fact sore losers; their mascot might as well be T.O. Their state senators defied their office oath and ran from their duties to Illinois just because they didn’t want to vote. They didn’t even, as Dan Rutherford would put it, want to hit the “chicken button."
And as sore losers do, they ran and complained instead of doing the right and sensible thing: speak loudly against it and prepare to do something about it next election.
Did the Republicans in DC run when ObamaCare came up for a vote? No. Did the Republicans in IL run when Quinn did as he said and raised the income tax? No. The sore losers now have gotten their way and now have a costly recall election … to get their way … again.
God forbid a politician does what he says he’s going to do. Mr. Walker has done nothing illegal; let him serve out his term. I myself do not like or agree with our governor here in IL at all, however maybe it’s because I’m a common sense teen or that I’m a fair play by the rules kind of guy, but I would not recall my own governor.
Sure I find him to be an idiot, but as far as I know, he hasn’t done anything illegal to deserve a recall (unlike our previous two). I know life isn’t fair, not every politician I like will win (in fact the majority of them lose). I respect the will and the voice of the people.
WE the people of Illinois chose Mr. Quinn and, well, if we don’t like him, we just have to think to the future and wait till re-election comes around, which is the right way to recall a Governor.
In the end what this election will determine is, “Will the people of Wisconsin really accept a bunch of sore losers and make a recall a blue print for Democrats (aka sore losers) around the country?”
