DES PLAINES - Yet another Illinois abortion clinic closed its doors late last year, soon after the Illinois Department of Public Health finally began quietly inspecting abortion facilities, some of which had not been visited by the state in over a decade.
Up until the IDPH began inspecting in 2011 after the Pennyslvania "house of horrors" was discovered, Illinois girls and women were consistently exposed to substandard abortion facilities in Rockford and Lincolnwood. The same is true of a third clinic in DesPlaines, a place called Dimensions, one of five abortion clinics owned by abortionist Vinod Goyal.
ProLife Action League found in FOIA'd documents, that the Dimensions clinic would not have passed medical standards, so Goyal voluntarily shut it down before the state closed it. The IDPH wrote:
-
- Dimensions Medical center, Ltd. is being discontinued due to out of date facilities and equipment.
- The operating rooms are small in size, and cannot accommodate the latest equipment/technological enhancements present in modern surgical suites.
- The facility is prone to flooding from its septic/sewer system, resulting in major sanitation issues.
- The applicants identified a substandard emergency generator system that is irreparable
and in need of replacement. - The applicant does not want to make the necessary repairs or replacements.
Without the discovery of the Pennsylvania horror and the decision of the IDPH to begin inspecting abortion facilities they had not inspected in years, Illinois girls and women would still be seeking help in this substandard facility.
This week, one of Illinois Democrats' most controlling lobbying groups - the radical abortionist Personal PAC - was successful in the Illinois House to stop yet once again legislation that would raise the standards of Illinois pregnancy termination surgical centers (PTSCs) to equal veterinary clinics.
This year, State Rep. Tom Morrison (R-Arlington Heights) valiantly picked up the cause carried last year by State Rep. Darlene Senger (R-Naperville) in an effort to protect women and girls going into Illinois remaining abortion clinics. HB 4117 remains waiting for a vote in the Illinois House, but was sent back to Assignments Friday after Reps Elaine Nekritz (D-Chicago) and Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago) betrayed women's welfare and tacked on unnecessary queries to delay floor action.
Personal PAC is well known for sending "coat hanger" campaign mailers to district voters in an attempt to shame pro-life candidates for their anti-abortion stand. It's about women's rights, they say, and their right to choose what's best for their bodies.
And all the while, Personal PAC and abortion allies like Nekritz and Feigenholtz are wielding immeasurable power in the Illinois General Assembly to keep those abortion clinics out of the state health department's watchful eye, while prolifers work and continually fail to raise abortion clinic standards.
In November, when Personal PAC sends a pro-abortion mailer, pick up the phone and call them. Demand that they fight for women's health and safety standards as much as they fight to protect women's rights to end their pregnancies in those abortion clinics.
