CHICAGO - Just two years ago, Chicago resident Joel Pollak was a feisty and effective challenger to incumbent Leftist Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (IL-9). After a hard-fought, but unsuccessful campaign, Pollak joined online media mogul Andrew Breitbart's growing battalion of commentators and writers on Breitbart.tv. Soon after joining Breitbart, Pollak, who gained media attention in 2009 when as a Harvard law student he publickly confronted and embarrassed Congressman Barney Frank, moved to Los Angeles to become the editor-in-chief of Breitbart's "Big" news sites.
Pollak appears to have inherited Breitbart's mantle, and spoke briefly about a new website to be rolled out on Monday. Pollak said the new website was in the works when Breitbart suddenly passed away Thursday morning while walking to his home in the Los Angeles suburb of Westwood.
The Breitbart websites will continue as a "living legacy," Pollak said in this interview:
