I am glad that the Tea Party Express endorsed conservative Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock over 80-year old Sen. Richard Lugar in his GOP primary race for renomination and election to another pointless term in the Senate. But I still have to protest the Tea Party Express statement as much too generous to Lugar when they call him a RINO. He is not.
We all know what a RINO is but Lugar is a Democrat pretending to be something else that maybe he once was four decades ago. Lugar endorsed Barack Obama for president in 2008. In my book, that makes his at least a DIABNO or Democrat In All But Name Only and no longer even eligible to be called a RINO. He has joined the ranks of other DIABNOs and former RINOs such as former Sen. and now current Gov. Lincoln Chafee (pretend to be anything--Rhode Island) who changes his affiliation as often and as fast as he does his shirts. Chafee was supposedly a Repbulican in the Senate but switched to Democrat when that was convenient and now calls himself an "independent."
Like Jimmy Carter, Lugar wears his Cheshire-cat smile as a mask for his real intentions. Lugar has flown under false colors his whole career and he is a particularly dishonest breed of DIABNO for this far west of the Appalachian Mountains. Please click on this link to help our Tea Party Express allies in the Hoosier state to do the Lord's work and dump Lugar on Indiana Primary Election Day, Tuesday, May 8, 2012. Since we Illinoisans can't retire Dick Durbin this year, think of the Mourdock campaign as a less expensive way to replace another Democratic U.S. Senator where we have an opportunity in a decisive GOP primary to outvote the Democrats who support Lugar. Mr. Mourdock has been endorsed by more than 60 of 90 GOP County chairs and by the majority of the Indiana GOP State Central Committee members. If you really want to volunteer for something super positive this year before May 8, please consider a weekend field trip over to Indiana where we have a great chance. The Indiana GOP is more conservative than the Illinois GOP and they can use our help and appreciate the work of Illinois volunteers for Mourdock. Congratulations to Paul Caprio for helping the Mourdock campaign raise money.
