AURORA - Blackberry Township Supervisor Dave Richmond is one of three Republicans vying to succeed State Senator Chris Lauzen, who is running for Kane County Board Chairman. Because District 25 was remapped to be a strong Republican district, the winner of the March 20th GOP primary has a very good chance of winning in November. Dairy man Jim Oberweis and attorney Tom Slocum are the other two candidates in the GOP primary.
Illinois Review caught up with candidate Richmond at an Aurora Panera's, where we asked about his background - and he reminded us that he's the Blackberry Township Supervisor - then more about his service in the U.S. Coast Guard -
IR: After time in the Coast Guard, what did you do?
IR: The building business is very tough right now ...
Richmond explains how Illinois business policies have dampered business expansion:
A little more about the oil change business ...
The question "What's your law practice speciality?" led to a discussion of immigration laws.
Current immigration law restricts law enforcement from asking specific questions about their status. IR asked just how does that work in Illinois? Richmond explains the state's current immigration law.
More to come in Part 2 with Dave Richmond, GOP candidate for Senate 25.
