Randy Nehrt has been named acting executive director of the ICC as a search for a permanent director continues. Nehrt replaces Tim Anderson who is leaving the commission to serve as secretary of the Illinois Senate.
Before joining the commission staff, Nehrt was deputy press secretary for Secretary of State Jesse White. He worked on the staff of House Speaker Michael Madigan, D-Chicago, from 1992-1999.
Anderson is being paid $110,772 annually at the commission, and if confirmed by the Senate for his new post, will make $130,795. Nehrt has been paid $96,060 annually at the ICC.
According to the U.S. Census Burea, the average income in Illinois is $43,159
