Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi is in a fierce primary contest with Iraqi War veteran Tammy Duckworth. The winner of the 8th CD Democrat primary on March 20th will face the GOP's 8th CD winner in November.
And although EMILYs List and U. S. Senator Dick Durbin have endorsed Duckworth, Krishnamoorthi is connected with big name Illinois Democrats and may be the fresh face Democrats are betting on this time around, rather than backing Duckworth's second bite at the nominee apple. Duckworth lost to 6th CD's Republican Congressman Peter Roskam in 2006.
