Online dating services in Illinois might soon be required to tell users if they do background checks on singles who subscribe to their services. A proposal by liberal State Sen. Ira Silverstein, would also require the dating services to post dating safety tips on their website.
"Companies doing business in Illionis, they should at least inform the consumer what they are doing and what they are not doing. I know these groups provide a lot of good services. I just think this is more of a consumer protection bill," Silverstein said.
Consumer protection for dating? Sounds like Ira had a bad experience.
