Ever since I was old enough to know the difference between legal and illegal (probably about the time I got my first speeding ticket as a teenager), I've heard the wails and cries about how cruel it is to try to teach the difference of "legal" and "illegal" to those that want to sneak across our border. "Why you can't just deport 13 million illegal aliens - that's just impractical", is one of the favorite lines that gets repeated constantly. "What about the children?", is a line that has been shamelessly stolen from the Teachers Union, but in both cases, it's really not about the children as much as it is about money for the adults.
So, once again, those dumb southerners in Alabama are showing that the problem is actually pretty easy to handle. By the way, people in the south LOVE to see uppity northerners underestimate them. It makes it easier for them to tie the northerners up in knots if they are underestimated.
Recently, the State of Alabama passed what is generally viewed as the toughest immigration law in the country. U.S. District Judge Sharon Blackburn this week upheld a number of key provisions in the law including checking status of students, barring courts from enforcing contracts with illegal immigrants, making it a felony for an illegal alien to do business with the State and making it a misdemeanor to an illegal alien to not have immigration papers.
Interestingly, and totally unsurprising to me, but just shocking to the main stream press is the fact that since the ruling came down, lots of illegals are magically deporting themselves. Hmmm, curious. Shockingly, if someone's incentive to be here, free education, government handouts, jobs, etc. are taken away, for some strange reason they don't like it here any more. Who wuddah thought? Interestingly, one undocumented (or what most normal people would call "illegal") alien mother said she is going to leave and move to California. She's smart enough to know where the goodies come easy and she's moving there.
Even a leftist troll reporter like Jack Cafferty can see the link. Earlier this year, Mr. Cafferty reported that, wow-just wow, Illegal Aliens are returning to Mexico because they are finding it harder to find jobs here. Once again, a case of self-deportation.
We don't need amnesty bills. We don't need to buy hundreds of thousands of buses to round up all the illegal immigrants and transport them back to their country. We just need to take away the incentive for them to be in this country. They will leave on their own. Alabama just proved it. It's actually pretty simple. If you are an illegal alien, you are here illegally. If you are here illegally, we don't think you should legally get any of the goodies. Illegal is illegal, is illegal.........oh, you get the point.
