The Michele Bachmann rally scheduled for this coming Monday has been cancelled with no clear explanation from the campaign.
Bachmann's people had recruited the Will County Tea Party Alliance, led by Steve Balich, Viv Porter, and Tim & Deb Kraulidis, to help them organize the rally and turn out the audience.
Given the size of the Will County organization and their track-record of success, it is not surprising Bachmann asked them to volunteer their time and reputation to make the event happen.
The question is...why did the "Tea Party Candidate" pull the plug on a Tea Party organization and the thousands of potential votes they'd rounded up to meet her on Monday?
Indications are that one part of the Bachmann campaign was unaware that the other part had schueduled the candidate to be in Illinois on Monday.
Not a good sign for the Bachmann candidacy at this point in the game.
UPDATE: The Will County Tea Party Alliance has issued the following statement:
The Will County Tea Party Alliance responded to a request by the Bachmann campaign to host a Rally for our area. We were happy and excited to help with this event – as we would with any Presidential Candidate. We are very disappointed that the Bachmann campaign has canceled this event.
