SPRINGFIELD -- State Senator Dale Righter (R-Mattoon) gets it. We back home want to know what's going on in Springfield and appreciate a couple of talking points and action items. Senator Righter's "Two Minute Warning" is a great update that takes just a little time, but provides valuable insight to Springfield's activities.
Sen. Righter emphasizes what the Republican Senate Caucus has been emphasizing what the three key goals for state budget negotiations should be: 1. Pay bills, 2. Balance the budget and 3. Make the income tax hike temporary. The Democrats' budget with increase of $800 million for one year is out of touch with reality and the financial struggle Illinois families are bearing right now.
Also, Righter asks calls to go into the Senate Executive Committee to push through HB 3500, which would protect the names and addresses of FOID card holders from public exposure.
