It’s tempting to be angry at Democrat voters for the way they vote. They’ve turned a recession into a depression… they’ve taken the greatest healthcare system on earth and put it in grave jeopardy of collapse… they’ve nationalized banks and car companies. The wreckage they’ve caused is incalculable.
But we need to look at it from their side, for once: They didn’t mean to do these things, they just got conned by their party's candidates. Democrat politicians have fooled union laborers into striking their jobs out of existence... or taxed their employers out of the country. They’ve fooled the poor into getting trapped in the endless cycle of public housing dependency. They’ve fooled minority groups into thinking that third-rate public schools that teach in Spanish are actually good for their poor kids. Democrat politicians have been fooling their voters for a century.
So, save your anger at what their votes hath wrought. Be nice to a Democrat today. The Irish have St. Patrick’s Day; the Italians have Columbus Day; veterans have Veterans’ Day... America’s Democratic voters only have one day dedicated to them, so let’s let them enjoy it. Be nice to a Democrat on this April 1, 2010.
